The podcast may sound like we’re talking through a tin can but that’s because we had no power at the office during our recording session. During the scramble on still wanting to release contect for our listeners, we came across our old USB microphone that we use to record with years previous. Finally, power has made it’s way back to the office and the podcast is now live! This week…

Everyday Gaming Society is stuck without power but still produces another weekly bonerific podcast! Featuring Steve and Nate.

Remember all of those fairy tale stories you heard from a young age? How Disney coated them with a “glamerious” look? Well, during this five part game those stories and tales became a little dark.

Starting off the game I actually played the first chapter of episode one for free, thanks to my XBL gold membership. I was anxious to see what happened in the chapters that followed but like most, I didn’t want to spend the extra cash to find out what happens in the end. Well knowing Telltale Game’s background I experienced with The Walking Dead video game, the game would be released on a retail disc and that day finally came. All five episodes and chapters are contained on a single disc but this game has got mixed reviews from many.

A HUGE downfall to this game that most encountered, along with myself, was the lagging frame rates. I played the disc version on two different Xbox 360’s and one was much more “laggy” then the other. Some dialogs got cut short due to this lag in frame rate so it might be wise to put the captions on to read what they say just in case you experience that issue. Controls are easy and simplistic to follow but again, it can be a royal pain when you can’t dodge an oncoming object because of the frames jumping early to cut. You cannot skip the cut scenes, intro or credits but they are short in length. And just one more thing I will say on the “negative” side of the game, after fighting a specific character in episode 4, chapter 4, all decision making choices were in Spanish until I hit the next chapter. For me it didn’t hurt my decision making too bad because there was only 3-4 decisions at that time.

Now, I don’t have an extensive knowledge on my fairy tales but this game covered most of the popular ones that Disney showcased through various of years. This game has a solid story. You play Sheriff “Big Bad Wolf” in a city that is filled with issues that of course, you must figure out. There are allot of characters in this game from the fairy tale land and they all have a much different perspective then what most books paint their picture as. The game can be breezed through in a fast pace and some episodes are longer then others. Most of the gameplay is slow but there is a few action scenes that will pop-up, sometimes out of no where.

If your looking for some easy achievements then this game will deliver that with no real issue. Your decisions depends on what Fables you unlock during the game. This means, you will have to play through the entire game more than once to obtain all Fables. In the end, this is not a 1000G game for the Xbox versions so don’t get your hopes up.

In conclusion, I would simply rent this title over buying it. Reason why? After your done playing it twice or three times for the achievements, you really don’t have much else to do within the game. For me, I’m not a HUGE fairy tale person so maybe that is the reason. But, if you do like this game, I would recommend finding the Fable graphic novels at your local comic book store. I, myself, wouldn’t mind picking up a trade paperback to see what happens in the comics vs the game.

For now, I’m off to play more games and work on some achievement guides. Please checkout the majority of my work on EverydatGamingSociety.com and expect more ‘Recaps’ once I get the time to sit and type on my computer.

Thanks for reading everyone!

It’s been a long couple years that Leo has worked with Everyday Gaming Society. He introduced EGS’s first unboxing videos across our YouTube channel, made multiple appearances on our weekly podcast and even appeared in a few recap videos.

Leo is now taking the next step in his life and will no longer be around the EGS Productions office. He will be out of state and this will be the main cause of his absence. EGS will still continue to support Leo by leaving his videos online and letting users know how he doing through our weekly podcast. Fan mail still can be sent to Leo at, egsproductions@hotmail.com.

Look forward to our next podcast that will feature Leo, one last time, airing this Wednesday on iTunes.

Until next time guys and gals, keep your finger on the controller trigger and keep gaming.

Yes, this title was made for children but its also made for getting all your achievements quite easy without testing your patience much.

I would suggest Free Play from the very start and don’t worry about getting 3 gold ribbons on each level cause theres no achievement that correlates. Each new area brings a different set of characters that you will remember from the movies. Each level there is a few achievements that can be obtained. Just restart the level if you miss anything.

Sync up with a controller or a friend online for Adventure Mode for this achievement. It will have roughly 6 different levels you must play through but sense each level is all timed, you could sit there and still beat the levels. Its worth a cool 40G on XBL and that was my last achievement for completing the game 100% (achievement wise). You can still play different game modes and get player cards but I’m not a DIE HARD fan of Toy Story so I wasn’t so sad when I resealed the game back in its original box.

My conclusion of this game title is this. If you like easy games that you can obtain all your achievements in under a few short hours, I would recommend RENTING this title. I say rent because the replay value, for me, isn’t too high.

After three painful weeks of being away from the production office, I am back for a few days.

The previous months have been slow for Everyday Gaming Society, thats no lie. After recording all my Assassins Creed 3 videos for all collectible locations, the files all became corrupted due to a folder crash.

Yea, a folder crash. Not quite sure what that exactly means or if thats even an official cause but long story short, all 13 videos have became corrupted. The folder will not do anything but look pretty on the dash of my computer. This is a MAJOR set back for all you folks that have been waiting ever so patiently for the Assassins Creed 3 collectible guide. Don’t worry, I will restart the entire campaign and get everything done for you guys but for now lets talk some positive things here at EGS.

As many of you may know, Nate and I have been cranking out some good material for the website. This includes an entire layout of the website, along with some tabs that will make exploring the site pretty damn simple. Were in the process of working out all the issues with our podcast archive but its a slow crawl to greatness to run everything on one server. Podomatic will stay at float for the time being but we will not be keeping all previous podcasts uploaded on their. Our site, egsforums.com, will have all previous podcasts as file names but right now we only have a simple page layout for the podcast section. I am still currently working on making it look fancy so even a blind person can notice it. Okay, maybe not but it will layout nice :D.

Another project is still being worked on but that work must be pushed aside for a few weeks as I will be on the road once again. This time I will be traveling to Austin, Texas for the RTX gaming convention. I will release another blog about my pre-texas plans but for now, I’m heading off here and signing on to egsforums.com and working on the site.

Thanks for reading everyone!
