Thanks for your time,

Remember all of those fairy tale stories you heard from a young age? How Disney coated them with a “glamerious” look? Well, during this five part game those stories and tales became a little dark.

Starting off the game I actually played the first chapter of episode one for free, thanks to my XBL gold membership. I was anxious to see what happened in the chapters that followed but like most, I didn’t want to spend the extra cash to find out what happens in the end. Well knowing Telltale Game’s background I experienced with The Walking Dead video game, the game would be released on a retail disc and that day finally came. All five episodes and chapters are contained on a single disc but this game has got mixed reviews from many.

A HUGE downfall to this game that most encountered, along with myself, was the lagging frame rates. I played the disc version on two different Xbox 360’s and one was much more “laggy” then the other. Some dialogs got cut short due to this lag in frame rate so it might be wise to put the captions on to read what they say just in case you experience that issue. Controls are easy and simplistic to follow but again, it can be a royal pain when you can’t dodge an oncoming object because of the frames jumping early to cut. You cannot skip the cut scenes, intro or credits but they are short in length. And just one more thing I will say on the “negative” side of the game, after fighting a specific character in episode 4, chapter 4, all decision making choices were in Spanish until I hit the next chapter. For me it didn’t hurt my decision making too bad because there was only 3-4 decisions at that time.

Now, I don’t have an extensive knowledge on my fairy tales but this game covered most of the popular ones that Disney showcased through various of years. This game has a solid story. You play Sheriff “Big Bad Wolf” in a city that is filled with issues that of course, you must figure out. There are allot of characters in this game from the fairy tale land and they all have a much different perspective then what most books paint their picture as. The game can be breezed through in a fast pace and some episodes are longer then others. Most of the gameplay is slow but there is a few action scenes that will pop-up, sometimes out of no where.

If your looking for some easy achievements then this game will deliver that with no real issue. Your decisions depends on what Fables you unlock during the game. This means, you will have to play through the entire game more than once to obtain all Fables. In the end, this is not a 1000G game for the Xbox versions so don’t get your hopes up.

In conclusion, I would simply rent this title over buying it. Reason why? After your done playing it twice or three times for the achievements, you really don’t have much else to do within the game. For me, I’m not a HUGE fairy tale person so maybe that is the reason. But, if you do like this game, I would recommend finding the Fable graphic novels at your local comic book store. I, myself, wouldn’t mind picking up a trade paperback to see what happens in the comics vs the game.

For now, I’m off to play more games and work on some achievement guides. Please checkout the majority of my work on EverydatGamingSociety.com and expect more ‘Recaps’ once I get the time to sit and type on my computer.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Yes, this is a full blown game for the kids within the gaming world but is it good enough for adults to play?

My first impressions of this game was a tipicle game thats almost, always, released with the movie, not great. The simple controls makes the game playable on virtually any age or skill level. If theres a specific location for must get to but can’t because of a locked gate, look for any objects that you can jump on. Yes, this tactic dose not always work but most of the time, after a few failed attempts, you can balance on that tree or light pole to jump over that locked gate.

The biggest disappointment for me was the ‘Free Roam’ option once you complete a mission. You have four payers, including yourself, that SHOULD follow behind you like the story mode but its not the case hear. Three AI’s will stand back and wait for you to select them. Each player has there own specialties to bring to the table. Wether its breaking boxes or double jumping, the games missions can not be all 100% completed in one run through. Now talking about your Ai’s. While in story mode, one AI will follow you. However, if your on a building they might fall off without you knowing. This means you must go through and take the path again to put them back in their spot. After a while your AI’s will not follow you. Not quite sure what causes this but it can be a pain staking process when you find one of their collectibles on the opposite side of the map.

Civilians walk the citys but avoid you at all cost unless your in “disguise mode”. This means simply putting on your sunglasses. Unless the animal control officers are blind, they should still notice animals walking the streets with or without sunglasses on. The only real enemies who cause a threat to your characters are the animal control officers who obtain you by lassoing you in numbers. This is very easy to escape by button mashing your way out of their hold. Get caught to many times and you will have to restart the entire mission over again. The whole disguise is a bit of a joke and I think the game developers could have done something more but its a kids game that has simple mechanics.

Your players walk quite slow throughout the town to complete tasks in each city to travel to. Really, its not a long game but can be a bit time consuming to get all the collectibles if your going for the achievements. Speaking of achievements, they are all very simple in this game. The side missions at the circus tent is a bit hard when you reach the last cities but still, its very possible to obtain all achievements.

All in all, this game title is a kids game. Id advise to have a friend split screen with you, sense theres no online multiplayer, to get all the collectibles. This will make your gameplay much easier and less time consuming when it comes down to your final bit of patiences with the receptive dialog from the towns people and your AI. I would not advise to spend money on this title UNLESS you have children. It might raise a few eyebrows when people see the game on your shelf but if you do buy it, hide it well to save yourself the humiliation your friends may inflict on you.

Thanks for the read everyone. Until next time.

Happy gaming!

Yes, this title was made for children but its also made for getting all your achievements quite easy without testing your patience much.

I would suggest Free Play from the very start and don’t worry about getting 3 gold ribbons on each level cause theres no achievement that correlates. Each new area brings a different set of characters that you will remember from the movies. Each level there is a few achievements that can be obtained. Just restart the level if you miss anything.

Sync up with a controller or a friend online for Adventure Mode for this achievement. It will have roughly 6 different levels you must play through but sense each level is all timed, you could sit there and still beat the levels. Its worth a cool 40G on XBL and that was my last achievement for completing the game 100% (achievement wise). You can still play different game modes and get player cards but I’m not a DIE HARD fan of Toy Story so I wasn’t so sad when I resealed the game back in its original box.

My conclusion of this game title is this. If you like easy games that you can obtain all your achievements in under a few short hours, I would recommend RENTING this title. I say rent because the replay value, for me, isn’t too high.

In this video game, The Amazing Spider-Man, there is over 700 collectibles. Insane right?

Today I found out, once you achieve 400 collectibles the mini map shows you where the rest can be located. This gave me a new outlook on getting all the achievements in the game. Although there are two level difficulty achievements, I might go for every achievement.

Just wanted to let everyone know that obtaining all collectibles in this game is possible. You just have to find the first four hundred to get some help from your mini map. Good luck to all and myself as I enbark on this journey!

If you’ve guys have been noticing, Inversion achievement videos are completely uploaded to our YouTube channel.

With the multiple requests I have had for The Amazing Spider-Man video game, I am in the process of working daily of getting all campaign collectibles. Please understand I work 100hrs on average in another facility. Every spare moment i spend working on videos.

I enjoy seeing all the feedback from our subscribers and I want all campaign missions to be completed before I start uploading the videos. There is nearly 200 collectibles in the campaign I will be having a walk through for but the other 500 in the game… We might have to see until a later time.

Nevertheless, expect some content being released soon in a EGS Recap video for further details. Thanks everybody!
